ABOUT SScOT

SScOT (formerly SISO) has been running full-time residential activity holidays based on orchestral and wind band playing, for 9 to15 year-olds of grade 3 standard and above, each July since 1985. These Summer Courses now attract about 90 children each year.

Play Away Days are held on an occasional basis for children aged 8 and above of grade 2 standard and above.

There are no auditions for any of SScOT's activities, the aim being to challenge each child at a suitable level, and to build on their motivation and enthusiasm.

The Mary Carmichael Fund was established in memory of Mary Carmichael, former Director of SScOT, who died in August 1998. This fund enables SScOT to offer a limited amount of financial assistance to a small number of children attending each residential course.
